Privacy Policy
Tiempo is built to keep timestamp conversion local to your Mac. This policy explains what is processed on-device, what is sent to third parties when you buy or activate a license, and how to contact us about privacy requests.
Who controls your data
Tiempo is the product and website operator for the data processing described in this policy. You can reach us at support@tiempo.sh for privacy requests or support.
What the website processes
The public website is a static marketing and download site. We use self-hosted Umami analytics to understand page visits and navigation patterns without placing analytics cookies in your browser. Our hosting provider may also process basic server logs such as IP address, request path, user agent, and timestamps to deliver and secure the site.
- Cookie-less analytics events through Umami, such as page URL, referrer, screen size, language, and website interactions
- Download requests for DMG and ZIP files
- Basic hosting and security logs
- Emails you send directly to support
The Umami script in this project is configured to respect browser Do Not Track settings. If your browser sends a supported Do Not Track signal, Umami analytics will not run for that visit.
What the macOS app stores locally
Tiempo performs timestamp parsing and conversion locally on your Mac. The app stores settings and limited licensing state locally so the product can work offline between validation checks.
- App preferences such as hotkey choice, update interval, and clipboard feature toggles
- Your trial conversion count and a local integrity backup file
- Your license key, activation state, validation timestamp, and a machine identifier used for licensing
Clipboard handling
Clipboard features are optional. When enabled, Tiempo reads clipboard text on-device to detect timestamps or prefill the converter. Clipboard contents are not sent to our servers as part of normal app use.
Payments, licensing, and email delivery
Checkout, license issuance, and license validation are handled through Polar. Transactional emails may be used to deliver your receipt or license details.
- License activation sends your license key and a machine identifier to Polar
- Periodic license validation sends your license key to Polar to confirm the license is still valid
- Purchase records, receipts, and license emails may be retained by Polar and their supporting infrastructure
App updates
The macOS app uses Sparkle to check for updates. When update checks are enabled, the app contacts the Tiempo update feed and download host to look for new releases.
Legal bases and purpose
- To provide the website, download links, and support communications
- To deliver, activate, validate, and maintain your software license
- To prevent fraud, abuse, and invalid license use
- To comply with legal obligations and resolve disputes when necessary
Retention
We keep support messages, purchase-related records, and license records only as long as reasonably necessary to provide the product, comply with tax/accounting obligations, and resolve disputes. Data stored only on your device remains there until you remove the app or clear the local data.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, restriction, or objection regarding personal data we control. To make a request, email support@tiempo.sh.
