Important: App is not notarized

Tiempo is currently distributed outside the Mac App Store and is not notarized by Apple. This means macOS will show a security warning when you first open the app. Follow the instructions below to allow it.

Installation steps

Download and open the DMG

Click the download button above. Once downloaded, double-click the DMG file to mount it.

Drag to Applications

Drag the Tiempo app to your Applications folder using the shortcut in the DMG.

First launch (important)

When you first try to open Tiempo, macOS will block it. Here's how to allow it:

Try to open Tiempo from Applications. You'll see a warning that it can't be opened.

Open System Settings → Privacy & Security

Scroll down to find the message about Tiempo being blocked. Click "Open Anyway".

Confirm by clicking "Open" in the dialog that appears.

You're all set!

Once allowed, Tiempo runs from your menu bar. Press ⌘⇧E to open the converter.

Alternative: Allow via Terminal

If you prefer, you can also remove the quarantine attribute using Terminal:

xattr -d com.apple.quarantine /Applications/Tiempo.app

Frequently asked questions

Why isn't the app notarized?

Notarization requires an Apple Developer account ($99/year). We're in the process of setting this up and expect to have it resolved soon. In the meantime, the app works perfectly - you just need to allow it once.

Is it safe to use?

Yes! The app is open for inspection — it only converts timestamps locally and never sends your data to external servers. Internet is only used for license handling.

Will I get updates?

Yes, the app includes auto-update functionality. When a new version is available, you'll be prompted to update from within the app.

What data leaves my Mac?

Clipboard monitoring and conversions stay local. Checkout, license issuance, and license validation are handled through Polar. Transactional emails may be used to deliver your receipt or license details.
